Support to the Third National Communication the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

Project Overview

Over the years, UNDP has consistently supported Jamaica’s efforts to prepare its National Communication documents for implementation of the country’s obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Under the current project, UNDP is helping Jamaica prepare its Third National Communication and its First Biennial Report to the UNFCCC. Support provided by UNDP will assist Jamaica to:

  • Conduct a national inventory of greenhouse gas emissions for the Third National Communication
  • Undertake vulnerability and adaptation assessments by developing case studies in communities that are at greatest risk from climate change impacts
  • Compile and publish/disseminate the Third National Communication document
The project is being implemented through the Climate Change Division of the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
