The Justice Undertaking for Social Transformation (JUST) project aims at improving Jamaica’s justice system at the level of state institutions and at the community level.

JUST is working to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Justice, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution and the Court Management Services to help them respond more effectively and efficiently to justice reform issues.

JUST is also working directly with civil society groups and stakeholders to support them in implementation of sub projects in communities affected by violence. The sub projects should strengthen the links between communities and the formal justice and governance systems. These activities will improve civil society’s capacity to participate in justice reform and promote public order.

This project is being implemented by the Ministry of Justice with support from Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFATD) and UNDP.
