Jamaican private sector now exploring the "good business" of the Gender Equality Seal Certification Programme
High level representatives from Jamaica’s private sector have started the dialogue on the “good business” possibilities of the UNDP-supported Gender Seal Certification Programme for private and public enterprises. The dialogue which started on 30 August, 2016, at the UNDP Country Office in Kingston, is part of the Office’s on-going internal and external efforts to promote gender equality.
The Gender Seal Programme is a strategic management tool for reducing gender gaps, promoting workplace equality and empowering women’s economic development. Guided by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the programme invites national governments, private sector firms and civil society, to collectively examine their internal business culture, with the goal of providing more just and decent working conditions for all workers.
