Climate and Disaster Resilience
UNDP is working with Jamaica towards improved disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation and in ensuring that both men and women benefit equally in reducing vulnerability to climate risks and natural disasters.
The Country Programme focuses on strengthening national policies and institutions for climate change adaptation and mitigation and disaster risk reduction. UNDP has consistently supported Jamaica’s efforts to prepare its National Communication documents for implementation of the country’s obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Support is also provided for cross-sectoral dialogue on climate change issues and implementation of the phase out of ozone-depleting substances.more
