Caribbean countries can now track progress in Agenda 2030 action online

Jul 21, 2017

Caribbean countries can now track their progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a SDG Index and Dashboards Report launched by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Bertelsmann Stiftung.

The SDG Index and Dashboards global report, a second edition tool, allows countries worldwide to view their performance on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) online at http://www.sdgindex.org

The SDG Index and Dashboards Report tracks progress on the SDGs in each country across the globe, providing a report card for country performance on achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The report assists governments and other sectors of society to set priorities and standards for action on the SDGs, track progress, ensure accountability, and ultimately to assess challenges and gaps in securing sustainable development at the national levels.

The seventeen (17) Goals with one hundred and sixty-nine (169) targets are integrated and indivisible. They represent a global plan of action for people, planet and prosperity in three core dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental.  They were adopted by world leaders, including heads of government from the Caribbean in September 2015 and came into effect on January 1, 2016

The SDG Index and Dashboard was first launched in July 2016 by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the Bertelsmann Stiftung.
