The UNDP Jamaica Multi-Country Office serves five Small Island Developing States in the Caribbean region: Jamaica, Turks and Caicos Islands, Cayman Islands, Bahamas and Bermuda. In all these countries, UNDP works to improve people’s lives by reducing poverty and inequality, promoting good governance, and promoting sustainable development.
Four of the five countries covered by the UNDP Jamaica Multi-Country Office are Net Contributing Countries (NCCs): Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and Turks and Caicos Islands. By Decision 85/40 of the UNDP Executive Board, countries with a per-capita Gross National Product of US$4,700 or more are categorized as Net Contributor Countries and international funding is no longer available. Therefore, the Governments of these countries bear all costs for delivery of technical assistance by UNDP.
