The United Nations Organizations represented in Jamaica work together to support development efforts in the Country. UN members directly showed this involvement and their personal commitment by taking part in the Sigma Corporate Run.
A total number of 33 members from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) , United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) registered as a non-corporate group titled “UN in Action” participating as walkers and runners in the Caribbean Sigma Corporate Run held yesterday, February 20, in Kingston, Jamaica to support efforts to raise funds for The Victoria Jubilee Hospital - Neo Natal Care Unit.
The Sigma Corporate Run is a 5.6 kilometer (3.5 mile) Charity RUN and WALK event that is open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels. The CORPORATE RUN is different from all other runs as the focus is on company teams. Companies are asked to sponsor teams of employees by making a charitable contribution to the year’s selected cause.
