Dr. Arun Kashyap, United Nations Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of UNDP, extended good wishes on behalf of UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon to former Prime Minister Bruce Golding and Prime Minister Andrew Holness at a meeting of the Diplomatic Corp held at the Office of the Prime Minister, Jamaica House, Kingston on Friday, October 21. Dr. Kashyap commended the outgoing Prime Minister, Hon. Bruce Golding, on Jamaica's support to and partnership with the UN System to achieve the national priorities of the vision 2030- National Development Plan. He also reaffirmed the UN's commitment to working with then Prime Minister Designate, Hon. Andrew Holness to fulfill the national vision for a better quality of life for all citizens of Jamaica.
Dr. Kashyap spoke at the meeting which had been called by the outgoing Prime Minister to express his appreciation to the Diplomatic community, formally bid the members farewell and to introduce the Prime Minister Designate, the Hon. Andrew Holness.
Dr. Arun Kashyap assumed duties as the new United Nations Resident Coordinator in Jamaica and Resident Representative of UNDP on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, replacing Mr. Minh Pham whose term ended in March.
