UNDP Signs Agreement for Support to New National Approach to Juvenile Justice
The Metcalfe Street, secure Juvenile Centre, will be pioneering Jamaica's changing approach to juvenile justice with the contribution of US$350,000 towards a range of services including medical and mental health screening, education and skills training, life skills and behavior modification programme as well as sports and recreational activities.

UNDP Jamaica participated by documenting an empowering project for youth in St. Thomas Parish who are gaining a new livelihood through Beekeeping.
Over 50 youth equipped to start business in honey production

Over 50 youth from St. Thomas and St. Ann are now able to start a business in beekeeping thanks to the Rural Youth Employment project (RUYE) which has provided 275 bee hives and a first phase of practical training.

Over 244 youths trained in four rural parishes

Over 244 youths received training in human relations and business development and another 230 received technical training in agricultural income generating activities as part of the Rural Youth Employment Project (RUYE) which is being supported by UNDP and USAID.
UNDP Supports Movement towards a National Statistical System for Jamaica

UNDP is in partnership with the Statistical Institute of Jamaica as it encourages the development of a coherent and neutral National Statistical System (NSS) in Jamaica through the project "Support for the Development of a National Statistics System". On February 15-16, 2011 a Public Sector Consultation Workshop was organized in Kingston, Jamaica to share information on the project as well as to share knowledge, experiences and lessons learnt.
