Justice Undertakings for Social Transformation

The Justice Undertakings for Social Transformation (JUST) project is designed to contribute to the progressive strengthening of the justice system in Jamaica through technical legal assistance, capacity building, and institutional strengthening support to strengthen justice sector institutions in Jamaica. 

The Ministry of Justice, Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and UNDP agreed to partner in support of the government's justice reform initiatives. In Dec 2011, the Ministry of Justice and GAC launched the programme to facilitate priority actions. JUST aims to have long-term impact that will benefit the Jamaican population as a whole, the most direct beneficiaries of JUST falls under two broad categories:

1. Justice sector intuitions and the individuals that make up or use these institutions and

2. Laying the ground work for future social development involving civil society and individuals from the most impoverished and marginalized corners of Jamaican society.
